Question about getting Lumineers?
I got my teeth whitened in june and it didn’t work out very well. I want to get lumineers but my dentist said I shouldn’t do anything to my teeth until i’m 18.. But I know this is going to sound stupid and all but I need white teeth because I want to be a actor. And I have been working on it and by next year i plan on going for it.
So I was wondering will it be okay if I get lumineers placed next year instead of waiting 3 years ?

Lumineers are a lot of hype, so dont fall for the hype. Any dentist that does cosmetic dentistry well will tell you have the tooth has to be trimed and lumineers claim no drilling needed. Lumineers is you see their ads never show the gumline on close ups bc you can tell how bad they look. Also on photos where you can see the gums the shots are distant shots so you cant see the gumline clearly. There are better venners out there than lumineers. Do not believe their hype, thats all it is.
Also cosmetic dentistry is a life long decision, so think about it and the expense. Veneers have a 5 year life span and to maintain the hollywood look you will need to have them all replaced even if only one veneer fails otherwise the hollywood look disapears. Keep in mind veneer (which lumineers are) will cost around a $1000 each tooth, and your gonna need at least 8 teeth veneer just on top. so just on top thats a$8000 , and this will be for the rest of your life is you want to maintain that hollywood look. so remember once you go the route of cosmetic venners you have commited yourself to a lifetime of dentistry. also the $8000 figure is on the low end and prices go up as inflation goes up. I personally would not place venners on you for the same reason your too young, and legally not able to consent, nor would I do it even with parental consent. I will not do any cosmetic work unless the patient is completely aware of what they are getting into and that its a lifelong commitment. I know this is not what you want to hear, but its reality. Stick to the bleaching and leave it at that.
