Healthy Dental Solutions in Michigan Announces Their New Cosmetic Dentistry Website

Cosmetic dentistry is a specialized practice within the dentistry field. It is concerned more with physical appearance of the oral cavity but can also help alleviate oral pain or diseases. Since the 1980s, cosmetic dentistry has evolved from only dental bonding to tooth whitening and invisible braces. Porcelain veneers help straighten crooked teeth and tooth whitening makes a dull smile dazzle. Dental bonding attaches an enamel-like material to the tooth’s surface to mold into a new tooth on top of a distressed one. Thanks to cosmetic dentistry, a more beautiful, youthful smile is now within reach with cosmetic dentistry.

The website, http://www.healthydentalsolutions.com, offers answers to your most pressing cosmetic dentistry questions. There are pages covering TMJ Syndrome, including symptoms, treatments and what to do with a TMJ emergency. There are also pages covering each type of procedure performed at Healthy Dental Solutions. Restorative dentistry pages crowns and bridges, root canal therapy, composite fillings, and inlays and onlays. Cosmetic dentistry pages include information about procedures such as porcelain veneers, tooth whitening, and tooth bonding. They also offer other services, including deep cleanings, fluoride treatments, and periodontal maintenance. Each page includes in-depth information about the procedure to help you feel comfortable with it. The contact page is there with all the information you need to make an appointment with Dr. Nguyen or Dr. DiStefano.

Dr. Gary DiStefano graduated from Western Michigan University in 1971 and received his DDS from the University Of Michigan’s Dental School in 1975. He holds a special interest in TMD and has had many successes in treating it since 1979. He also lectures medical students on TMJ at the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Osteopathic Medicine, and has been doing so since 1984. He keeps up with treatments and technology by attending lectures regularly and completing coursework to ensure the best care possible for his patients. Dr. Phu Nguyen graduated from MSU in 1997 and went on to receive his DDS from the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School in 2001. He has completed a one-year surgical internship with St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He practiced two years of family general and cosmetic dentistry in Lansing before joining Dr. DiStefano in his cosmetic dentistry practice. Both doctors are focused on making the dentistry process as comfortable as possible for you.

Removal of amalgam (silver-mercury) fillings: Dr. Sarkissian respects the undeniable scientific evidence accumulated over the last two decades, recording many alarming facts about the unsuitability of amalgam, or mercury-silver for use in humans. In many European countries, its use has been almost abolished, and moreover, banned for placement in pregnant women and children. In the US, consumerss have become more aware of the potential danger and many patients are demanding full informed consent before having anything placed in their mouths. All about mercury in amalgams, can be found ath the the IAOMT website. If Dr. Sarkissian need to replace failing amalgam fillings, we first make sure that certain supplements are taken with the co-operation of the patients naturopathic practitioner, to boost excretion processes. We then follow strict protocols set aside by the IAOMT, the most important measures including: * High-volume air evacuation with mercury filters * Using an electrical drill with less RPM, and following a sectioning method of amalgam removal to minimize mercury vaporization. * Placement of rubber dam, or in some cases, use of the IAOMT-approved “cleanup suction”. * Placement of moist napkins over the patients nose and eyes, and sometimes oxygen. If you live in the Glendale or greater Los Angeles area you can visit Dr. Sarkissian’s homeopathic dentistry website, www.SarkissianDDS.com, to learn more.

@Signalement Actually yea when I thought over it, I realized you are in Europe and the system is a little different there… I guess I was too quick to pass judgment. Nevertheless, thanks for the information!

  2. Signalement says:

@eBiology Its a valid Q – first of all I am 32, the profile hasnt updated it yet. Secondly, there is a world outside Northern America, and we have our own university systems that does not necessarily include the college-system. in Sweden, we can enter university studies direcctly after high school. Thirdly, our contact and treatment with patients begin in the second year, which is the start of the training and experience. If you add up everything it would make the experience of my course 11,5 y.

  3. eBiology says:

@Signalement I’m not trying to argue with you but your profile says you are 31… if you had 10 years of experience you would have had to start at the age of 21, which is impossible because you wouldn’t have your DDS yet. I know how long it takes to become a dentist because I am entering an MD program in less then a year and intend on specializing in orthopedic surgery. Although I do agree with you that mercury poisoning is overly dramatized.

  4. TheOwlDaddy says:

@Marakandeia I know that I’m not. I just tell facts and not everybody wants to accept those facts. If you ask questions about how and who of composite material, just comments like yours are posted. Poor people with a carcinogene material in their mouth, a rich dentist, a producer of composite raising up with his shares and YOUR health is ruined then! But DO GET composite, as much as you want…. I won’t ever, be sure about that!!!

  5. TheOwlDaddy says:

@Signalement As long I am not married with 3 M ESPE, this material stays out of my teeth.

  6. Signalement says:

@TheOwlDaddy very much so sir, very much so. And I say this as a dentist with 10 years of experience and an odontology phD-student.

  7. jakeZaks2012 says:

@TheOwlDaddy, google “MDCH – Mercury Vapor Video” – an experiment carried out by Bowling Green State University. It shows mercury vaporising at room temperature and rising like smoke.

I’M NOT ARGUING WITH YOU OVER THIS ANYMORE. YOU ARE WRONG!

  8. jakeZaks2012 says:

@TheOwlDaddy, YOU SAID the atomic weight of mercury was 225, you were wrong!

I googled for the exact figure – yes, it’s 200.59 – but I’m not a pedant. 200 is fine for a youtube comment. This is NOT an exam!

The fact that you accuse me of getting the atomic weight wrong when I got it right – it was YOU who got it wrong – shows YOU’RE A COMPLETE JERK!

Mercury atoms are NOT 200 times heavier than air. Air molecules have weight, they move, which gives them a larger force, & there’s many of them.

  9. jakeZaks2012 says:

@TheOwlDaddy writes “I know that mercury vaporizes, but just under certain circumstances” – not true! Vapor is being released all the time – unless you hibernating, not eating or drinking for months on end, and even then some will be released.

The surface does alter – you have to look at it under a microscope. You’re not going to see great big holes, no.

  10. TheOwlDaddy says:

@jakeZaks2012 I know that mercury vaporizes, but just under certain circumstances. What “scientists” had shown that study? Scientists from 3M Dental? The truth is that the surface DOES NOT CHANGE at all as a recent study from an austrian university has shown. Just sorry, I typed the atomic weight wrong, it’s 200; 200.59 to be honest. But no matter if 200, 201 or 225, how can an atom of a weight more than 200 times heavier than air “vaporize” easily?

  11. TheOwlDaddy says:

@jakeZaks2012 That’s why I try to avoid BPA as much as I can….. But I don’t need it IMPLANTED in my mouth !!! Now you confess again that it’s an “University research” that BPA leaks into your body….. All that shit leaking in my body, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and for many years………. Yummy!

  12. TheOwlDaddy says:

@jakeZaks2012 I’m not spouting propaganda, I just say I don’t wanna get poisoned by my dentist. Where is your science that amalgam is harmful? I don’t defend it, I just tell about the problems of composite material AND I say that there is an alternative material to amalgam: GOLD !!! But who can afford this? Amalgam opponents like you tell all the shit about Alzheimer and all that. But why do people get Alzheimer even if they never had any Amalgam fillings?

  13. TheOwlDaddy says:

@jakeZaks2012 I’m not genuinely concerned about cancer but I don’t want to have a toxic material in my body when I have the chance to avoid it. This is not an “agenda”, it’s the truth some dentists that want to make money on your health don’t want to accept because it cuts a way for them making money. The one way you confess that there are “harmful ingredients” in composites and the next sentence you deny composites being toxic. Don’t you see how you contradict yourself?

  14. TheOwlDaddy says:

@jakeZaks2012 Sorry, I went to the university for many years. Who told ever of a spoonful of mercury? No one! Mercury stops being toxic if it’s mixed with other metals. A few grams is lethal? And people with 16 or more fillings for more than 30 years? Why are they still alive then? Ahhh…. Now you talk of “harmful ingredients” in composites. Don’t you see how you contradict yourself? What “holes” in composites? This is no “nonsense”, these are facts some people don’t want to accept !!!

  15. TheOwlDaddy says:

@jakeZaks2012 I don’t ignore something that does not exist. If Amalgam would be so toxic you are supposed to think, about 60% of world population would have died the last 170 years. Tell me just any PROOF of all that diseases !!! Even dentists and dental assistants have no higher mercury level in their blood or thyroid system though they work with it all day. But there is one thing I will agree with you: The best filling you can get is a filling you don’t need.

  16. jakeZaks2012 says:

@TheOwlDaddy, if you were genuinely concerned about cancer, you’d switch over to glass wherever possible.

FOR THOSE WITHOUT AN AGENDA, unlike TheOwlDaddy, do not leave food standing in cans or plastic – transfer the food to GLASS containers. Also, avoid plastic kettles.

  17. jakeZaks2012 says:

@TheOwlDaddy, you’re so stupid, you think people need to ingest a spoonful of mercury from their fillings to show symptoms. WRONG! If you ingested that much mercury, you wouldn’t live for long. A few grams is lethal.

U contradict yourself, u claim that minute, invisible quantities of harmful ingredients in composites WILL give you cancer, and that composites evaporate away. Where are the large holes in composites that you’re talking about?

You’re just spouting nonsense to confuse the public.

  18. jakeZaks2012 says:

@TheOwlDaddy, MERCURY VAPORIZES AT ROOM TEMP. Mercury vapor looks like smoke – although u can’t see it with the naked eye. Scientists have shown that 95% of the mercury at the surface of a filling evaporates out.

You won’t see big holes in your tooth. That’s because you can fit billions of atoms onto the head of a pin.

The atomic weight of mercury is 200 NOT 225. Tiny air currents can carry dust particles off. So tiny, invisible atoms – even so-called “heavy” ones – r easily carried away.

  19. jakeZaks2012 says:

@TheOwlDaddy, I’m not neglecting the risk of cancer, I’m being realistic. THERE IS NO SAFE FILLING FOR TEETH AT THE PRESENT TIME. Every filling has some dangerous ingredient.

Gold fillings are possibly the safest, though I haven’t researched them extensively, as I can’t afford gold fillings.

YOU’RE IGNORING THE DANGERS OF MERCURY – WHY? You’re clearly up to something! If you were concerned about the dangers of fillings, you’d be condemning mercury amalgam, but you’re not!

  20. jakeZaks2012 says:

@TheOwlDaddy, MY GOD YOU’RE STUPID. BPA in plastic LEACHES OUT into your food and drink. Go read the research. You don’t need to suck on plastic to get it into your system – everyone has it flowing through their bodies!

University research has shown that BPA is getting into all our bodies from plastic containers, bottles, the lining in food cans, etc.

  21. jakeZaks2012 says:

@TheOwlDaddy, YOU’RE SPOUTING PROPAGANDA. You claim mercury amalgam is 100% safe – science shows it isn’t – u side with the ADA & dentists, yet then claim – without any science – that composites GIVE YOU CANCER GUARANTEED.

It’s pretty clear the game you’re playing. You’re trying to defend mercury amalgam no matter what.

Mercury leaks from amalgam & accumulates in the brain. Mercury has been shown to impair one sense of smell, and then there is all the cognitive damage it does to the brain.

  22. TheOwlDaddy says:

@jakeZaks2012when a composite is put in”. Do you need another proof for the toxicity of this shit? I will never get it, you can be sure and it will never be put in my kids teeth. It’s just money-making dentists, health freaks, so-called “hollistic dentists” and propaganda people like Daunderer with his “mercury-psychosis”. They tell about “disesases” like headache that can’t be proved. Or they want to get rid of it for cosmetic reasons. Wake up, composite is worse than amalgam can ever be !

  23. TheOwlDaddy says:

@jakeZaks2012 tell you the bullshit that you can “neglect” the risk of cancer or allergic reactions. Sure they do. They have to sell their product. Amalgam deposits mercury in your brain? So what? What does it do there? What has ever been proved? BPA in plastic bottles or food cans? I dont have them in my mouth all day !!!! In your last sentence you confess that BPA causes cancer and a few sentences before you tell me that “Research shows that BPA and BPA-derived monomers are mostly released

  24. TheOwlDaddy says:

@jakeZaks2012 Mercury vapor? Oh yeah!!!! A heavy metal like mercury with an atomic weight of 225, one of the heaviest non-radioactive metal “vaporises” every day? Well, the amalgam filling must have been vaporised one day…. Good joke! I have mine for more than 30 years now and no trace of “vaporising”. BPA and BPA-derived monomers are released and they drop to nothing? Who told you that trash? German KZBV has published the study recently and only the composite producers like 3M Dental

  25. jakeZaks2012 says:

@TheOwlDaddy, mercury vapor is released every day of the life of an amalgam, and the mercury accumulates in your brain.

Research shows that BPA and BPA-derived monomers are mostly released when a composite is put in, and then drop to almost nothing after curing.

Where’s the research showing composites cause cancer? There is research showing amalgams deposit mercury in your brain.

Why aren’t you concerned about BPA in plastic bottle, containers, food cans, etc? BPA is known to cause cancer.
